After an injury, medical, insurance, evidence, and financial questions can arrive at once. Initial screening can identify whether Anthony may evaluate a possible civil claim.
What this covers
These are categories Anthony screens for initial consideration. They do not promise that any particular matter will be evaluated or accepted.

Vehicle and transportation collisions
Car, truck, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrian, rideshare, and other transportation collisions. These matters usually involve an insurance company early, and what you say and sign in the first weeks can shape everything that follows.

Premises liability and slip and fall
Injuries on someone else's property, including stores, apartment buildings, parking areas, and workplaces open to the public. The central questions are usually what the property owner knew about the hazard, how long it was there, and what they did about it.

Serious injury and wrongful death claims
Catastrophic injuries and the loss of a family member. These matters can carry substantial evidence, documentation, and damages questions. Any evaluation depends on the specific facts, deadlines, parties, and available evidence.

Other negligence and civil injury claims
Harm caused by someone's failure to act with reasonable care that does not fit the categories above. If you are not sure where your situation belongs, a short, non-confidential description is enough for initial screening.

Worth doing
- Get medical attention and follow through on it. Gaps in treatment become arguments later.
- Write down what you remember now, while it is still detailed.
- Keep everything: bills, photographs, incident reports, names, and the dates of every conversation.
- Note any date you have been given by anyone, including a claim deadline or a court date.
Worth pausing on
- Recorded statements to another party's insurer, before you understand what is being asked.
- Signing a release, settlement, or medical authorization you have not had reviewed.
- Posting about the incident or your injuries publicly.
- Assuming you have plenty of time. You may not.
Deadlines are real and they are not all the same. California sets time limits for bringing a claim, and some of them are much shorter than people expect. Claims involving a city, county, state agency, or other public entity are a common example. Missing a deadline can end a claim no matter how strong it is. If you are unsure what applies to your situation, ask early rather than late.
